This message came round on Facebook this morning. I wanted to share with you too. Val x
“Hurt people hurt people.
That’s how pain patterns get passed on, generation after generation.
Break the chain today.
Meet anger with sympathy, contempt with compassion, cruelty with kindness.
Greet grimaces with smiles.
Forgive and forget about finding fault.
Love is the weapon of the future.”
Yehuda Berg
Break the chain and break free
Good thoughts, Val. On the Spiritual Path, people who annoy us are our “teachers.” In time, people who can upset us become harder and harder to find.

But I also love this one:
* I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it. ~ Edith Sitwell

Just looking at a “hurter” with compassion, and truly feeling the hurt within them can begin to form a new attitude in that person…

It is so true and reminds me of my mother. She was abused as a child. Her parents were alcoholics. She broke that cycle and my brother and I were never physically abused, nor did we have deal with alcoholic parents. 🙂
