To meditate is simply to take time to be aware.
When we pause in mindfulness, we open up awareness to new insights about ourselves and life.
Our awareness expands beyond our own thoughts, beliefs and feelings, and taps into a deeper consciousness.
There is a softening as we acknowledge our frailties and imperfections … and that of mankind.
I believe that this mindful awareness opens the gateway to peace in the world.
In taking time to pause and find peace within, we become an instrument to bring about healing transformation in human relations.

My meditation practice is growing stronger, love how this reminds me of how much it can accomplish when I just become aware and change myself!

Yes Val, from awareness springs self-knowledge, from self-knowledge springs compassion, from compassion springs peace. H ❤

Wonderful thoughts Val.. I agree, we create our outer world from our inner reality.. when we find our own inner peace it is then reflected in the world.. May more be ever mindful of their thoughts..
Its something I often pull myself up on.. WordPress was a prime example of being a teacher 😉

I have lessons to learn about myself every day. Maybe that we get so many (?) to keep us aware and caring?

We never stop learning Val.. that’s the beauty of this life.. And looking for the silver lining in all of life’s gifts both happy and sad ones.. Sometimes we dig deeper, but I am always mindful I must have somehow created the experience I needed to learn its gift from.. ❤ x

Thank you jean! There are many people ao far removed from awareness of themselves, let alone a connection to their innermost being. The more people who take the first step of awareness, without judgement, the more hope there is. 💛

I fully agree in what ever you have said.
“To meditate is simply to take time to be aware.”
That should be the repetition to the mind.
As if a Goldsmith hits the gold to make it into an ornament.

It seems the harder I try to be aware in the moment, the harder it gets Val! 😉

When we try, our thinking is in charge. Our thoughts tell us we should be able to sit and meditate.
When we are ready, our Being simply wants to let go and notice. Let it happen with an open curious heart.

Agreed! If we lived more consciously, surely we would treat the world around us and each other with more care?

It seems that I’ve been thinking and saying how great it would be to get back to yoga (and even better begin to understand meditation), and then these words you write seem to illuminate the way “In taking time to pause and find peace within, we become an instrument to bring about healing transformation in human relations.” ~ to get the best out of life. Cheers to a great week Val.
