I love this perspective … and its wisdom from George Carlin.
I want to live my next life backwards:
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in a nursing home feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.
You enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
Then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day.
You work 40 years until you’re too young to work.
You get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and you’re generally promiscuous.
Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, and you have no responsibilities.
Then you become a baby, and then…
You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury, in spa-like conditions: central heating, room service on tap, and then…
You finish off as an orgasm.
I rest my case.
Whichever way we live it … it feels so good to lighten up … and appreciate each precious moment 🙂
Wonderful Val!! I love George Carlin….one of my favorites…he is sorely missed! Enjoy this beautiful day! ❤

I totally agree Nancy! Being off the wall and using humor helps us open up to new ways of thinking 🙂

Yes! It’s about allowing our Right Brain some free rein . . . rather than allowing our Left Brain to over-analyze every thing to death.
One reason that some adults fail to see the humor in Carlin’s creative genius is their inability to switch from Left to Right. Kids laugh far more easily than most adults. Having a great sense of humor keeps things Light and Amusing.

Didn’t realize that humor is connected to our right brain … it explains a lot 😉

I believe that our sense of humor straddles both lobes . . . but it is often suffocated and stifled by over-analytical Left Brain thinking.

if only possible to experience time

I never did see the movie David ….
But I so enjoy experiencing non linear time in my dreams and imagination.
Maybe we don’t need to experience it here in order to believe that it is so, in a different realm.

Oft the contrarian, Val, I wonder why people want something other than what they are blessed with in this life. I realize the humor (I like Carlin) and light-heartedness intended, however, accepting and appreciating God-given gifts and a good life finds me right where I am. And the journey is good. 🙂

Thank you Eric. I hear you … and a wee part of me is also thrilled at looking at life in a completely different way. We take so much for granted as given in our beliefs, culture and experience. Here in the US we call them “rights”. We give them that label and then hold onto it … as if it is ours to begin with. In reality we made up the concept of “rights”….
I fully appreciate the life I have and have been given. And I am also open to seeing it is a completely different way.
Appreciating both does not negate one or the other.
I love George Carlin for opening up an other way of seeing the world!
And his humor is wicked…

Whether we are going backwards, forwards or upside down, we only need to be present where we are right now. Either way, backwards does has some benefits Val!

We may not get to choose to live backwards … but we can have fun making things up as we go along!
