“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are”
Anais Nin
Everything we see is a reflection of ourselves.
We can only see in others that which we have knowledge of, based on our own experience.
What we admire and love most in others is a reflection of the parts of ourselves we may not have fully acknowledged or expressed.
… We are beautiful and magnificent ❤
What we dislike most in others is a reflection of the parts of ourselves we may not have fully acknowledged or integrated.
… We are works in progress learning and growing through each encounter ❤
Are you ready to embrace all that you see as a reflection of you?
So true. We are works in progress. 🙂

That Anais Nin quote has long been a favorite. We see the world behind our eyes. When we are full of gratitude, we see things to add to that gratitude. When we are feeling “sour,” life appears sour to us.

It can be powerful David. Especially when our ego shrivels at the thought. Asking the question “How am I that” can open up new insights into our very human shadow side …

I’ve always been aware that when people bug me, I’ve probably got that same quality, but I never thought of it the other way. When I admire people, there may be a quality within me that I haven’t expressed. I like that Val! ❤

Great post. And, of course, so closely aligned to not being able to like (and love) others until one likes (and loves) oneself! Easier said than done!

Thought-provoking! Will need to go a bit deeper into this and look at my likes and dislikes…but I definitely like what I see here on your blog 🙂

It does make the mind go round in loops when we delve in here Tiny. The ego doesn’t like looking at parts of itself that is less than it would like to be.
Thank you for stopping by 🙂

The life we create really is a reflection of how we see ourselves in this world. Everytime I shift a belief in me, so does the world around me and how others see me and treat me. Love the quote Val 🙂 This is so true.

This one falls along in my current life journey, and realizing and letting go of the assumptions I bring to the table, because it is painfully true! What we see is based on US! Great reminder for my Monday morning!

“What we see is based on US” is a perfect summary Kate! Of course, I enjoy others who summarize like I do 😉

One of my favorite quotes…it reminds me of the mirrors that are all around me in all of the people in my life. Blessings to you, dear Val. ❤
