“The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe to match your nature with Nature.”
― Joseph Campbell
This makes me think of the times I feel so connected in nature… and how drawn I am to breathtaking photographs of the natural world.
How can we make our heartbeat match the beat of the universe?
By slowing down to the speed of the universe, nature and life itself!
This is your slow down call for today folks.
Go slowly in wonder and gratitude.

Thanks, Val! Perfect photos for the post. I find that I connect best to the heartbeat of the Universe while listening to the waves lapping/crashing on the shore.

My love too is the sound of waves coming in to shore. One of the most peaceful and calm times of my childhood.

You know what slows my heart beat? The sound of ocean waves hitting the tropical beach. I love that sound.

I wonder if the sound of the ocean reminds us of the time we spent in the womb with mom’s heartbeat just a heartbeat away?

I just had this same conversation with someone else! It’s so easy to float in the ocean too. When I was in the Dominican Republic I floated without much effort, my body in a seated position and was gently rocked and so at peace!

When we go in the gulf here, we sit on noodles and let the waves rock us up and over each one. BLISS!

The lead photo is stunning!!!!
And the end photo literally made my heartbeat slowdown.
I read somewhere many years ago that the earth pulses at 7.8Hz — but it has quickened in recent decades. I always liked that idea — that the earth has a pulse.
Your post quietened my pulse — and I felt in tune with the earth.
Thank you!

That quote by Joseph Campbell is absolutely superb Val. I must say that apart from Jung he has probably had the most profound influence over my life. Just a wonderful human being.
