Teach Yourself

“No one is ever really taught by another

each of us has to teach himself.

The external teacher offers only the suggestion,

which arouses the internal teacher,

who helps us to understand things.”

                            Swami Vivekananda

From “Yoga Gems” edited by Georg Feuerstein

How will you access your inner wisdom today?

What will you learn from your internal teacher?

Be curious and have fun!

Namaste

Oh, yes! I just read his biography, Swami Vivekananda I mean, I also visited his ancestral house here in Kolkata. I love his teaching! 🙂 I have always thought that as a teacher your most important thing is to inspire and help children and adults to think for themselves and to explore without judgement! 🙂 Thank you for this post! 🙂 ❤

Self reflection is so important. In the beginning of my journey I thought I had to read the words of all the masters to find myself……but they just kept telling me to find myself………and I did! ….not saying it was easy to understand this concept while I still so attached to ego….but it seems laughingly simple now!

We never expect to find wisdom inside of us do we?
All the good things are external. And so we seek for the answers there.
Looking back I thought I would “get it” if I studied and absorbed and practiced just like them.
The one day we come across one wisdom like this … and when we are ready. We recognize the truth.
      Thanks ISWH!
