So many endings pass and
beginnings take their own
sweet and sour time.

Several moments, but none
really pivotal.
Other than death.
The real fait accompli.

Other losses drag on.
Grinding away like these
arthritic joints
irritating like dry crusty
skin patches, or fading
like the memories of
what life once held.

The passing of the years
takes it toll.
The before has to be faced
so now can take its place.

And when we sit in presence,
the voice says simply “Allow”
and “Trust”. All
pieces fit the puzzle.

The past slips away
into silence.
Surprising relief
to drink in.
Sit and listen
for the call inward
and forward.

Who knows what will
come into being from the
shadows of these days
or where the light will
ignite and shine brightly.

Just as dawn follows night
trust all will be revealed.
Live with the confusion
and contradictions of now.
Seek out the light
and open your heart.
Find your middle ground.

  7. Well written Val, it is such a profound journey. And we feel it all kind lady. But in there is that destination as we slowly understand that inner love…that balance inside us all. Thank you for sharing a wounded heart, but slowly a lighter one 🤗❤️🙏

      1. It is a powerful journey Val, but of them all it shows our hearts much compassion and empathy on that path to our inner balance. Much love, light, faith and hope to you kind lady, may it bring you peace 🤗❤️🙏

          1. Our journey gives it so much more meaning, that love and compassion. And those things that don’t balance in where we go, wish them well but keep stepping towards what you have found kind lady 🤗❤️🙏

  10. Val,

What I took away from your poem is a sense of allowing all that needs to be felt. Welcome it and in turn acceptance will enter my heart.

    Thanks for sharing your words.
