being present is a present

My thanks go out to Ali Grimshaw and her writing circle last weekend. What a wonderful time spent allowing our authentic voice to speak. Here is one of my offerings.

Take a moment and notice
what's in front of you right now.
The grounded way of it's simple being
and the wonder of how it got here.

So many bits and pieces, grand and small
that we take for granted
in our hurried and distracted minds.

Thoughts come and go and keep us
diverted from past to future.
Precious moments disappear unnoticed
in a blink of an eye.

What a gift to pause and remember
to land here with presence.
Cheers to the reality of now.

So beautiful, Val. How often, we don’t appreciate blessings in our lives until they are gone.

Is there a “left” now or a “wrong” now? Perhaps it is NOW

Appreciation does take a little time, but that is what we are given to understand it. Great post Val, may we all find that destination. Cheers! 😀❤️🙏

    Val,
I appreciated the opportunity to read this poem here. I am especially drawn to the first stanza.

Thank you for sharing it and sharing about the writing circles. It is always an honor to hold space for you.
    Keep shining your light.
