“If a writer is so cautious he never writes anything that cannot be criticized, he will never write anything that can be read. If  you want to help other people you have got to make up your mind to write things that some men will condemn.”

~ Thomas Merton

So, you through the line out with the bait. When are we going to read something some of us condemn?

Great quote, Val! I will try to remember this. Yesterday I sent to the recycling a plastic bin of articles I’d been collecting to one day write a book on the psychological implications of animal cruelty when I realized I hadn’t touched the project in 4 years. My attention had drifted and new issues took center stage. It felt good to let it go and perhaps return to it someday later on. Many have addressed the issue well.
