“There are three levels of truth:
experience, reasoning, and knowing.
All other assertions should be rejected.”
The first type of truth is from our direct experience.
The second type is truth gained from reasoning and analysis.
The third type of truth is different from the first two. This is the way of spiritual knowing. Meditation gives one perceptions of absolute certainty. This knowledge is beyond words, description and rationalization There is no need for other investigations.
In fact, one must be careful not to let the fruits of one’s meditations pass into the realm of rationalization. To avoid doubt and conflicting opinions, followers of Tao keep their revelations and spiritual knowing to themselves.
Deng Ming-Dao from 365 Tao
Such an interesting perspective that I can understand… The more we try to analyze a truth beyond analysis, the more doubt and confusion arises in the mind.
The answer lies beyond the ego mind.
This sense of knowing requires faith.

An infusion of knowing is indeed beyond reason, it is faith. Insightful post…

Faith wouldn’t be faith if it could be rationalized, would it, Val? ❤

Sometimes we just know. Calm certainty floods our being.
The first time I experienced intuitive knowingness, I glanced up and KNEW that the house with the “For Sale” sign was MY house. I also KNEW that that intuitive knowingness welled up from a source inside me that was far beyond the limits of my mind.

I love it when that happens!

I was having a related issue in an exhaustive discussion with a blogger a few days ago Val, an intellectual and a rationalist who kept pushing me for ‘meaning’ in attempted descriptions, or interpretations, of what I and many others call ‘non-duality’. Explaining that there was no ‘meaning’ other than the fact of the experience itself progressed matters not one iota. H ❤

You and Deng Mind Dao seem to be aligned Hariod 🙂
I find rational discussions around intuitive meaning to be exhausting… Not enough left brain cells!
I’d love to see this discussion on non duality. What is the protocol to share an other’s post?… I may have to let the universe guide me to it.

I wouldn’t bother Val; it led absolutely nowhere. Actually, it was with someone who wanted to connect with something beyond appearances (I try to avoid the word ‘spiritual’) but who cannot escape their rational side.

I enjoyed this post Val, yes our perception as to the truth can be confusing… What was our truth yesterday, is not always the truth of today.. learning to discern within and let our Inner Knowing and intuition guide… And we are forever learning.. ❤

Thank you for sharing here Sue. Knowing the difference between our inner and outer realms, so we can explore inwards are the first steps in this journey of learning.
