* Keep Close to Nature’s Heart

the john muir way

“Keep close to nature’s heart …

and break clear away once in a while

and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods.

Wash your spirit clean.”

John Muir

John Muir grew up close to where my family is in Scotland. His legacy is a series of wonderful walks along the coast. Not majestic mountains and forest National Parks, but none the less, they do wash the spirit clean.

Nature’s heart is always close to me, even in winter here in the North East US.

A number of people have been writing about Spring and nature …. Spring is definitely in the air.

Bring it on 🌾🌾🌾

I am looking forward to the new energy for embracing nature fully again Β πŸ™‚

And yes Louise, I will be losing a few pounds right along with you!

  1. β€œThe sun shines not on us but in us. The rivers flow not past, but through us. Thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fibre and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing. The trees wave and the flowers bloom in our bodies as well as our souls, and every bird song, wind song, and tremendous storm song of the rocks in the heart of the mountains is our song, our very own, and sings our love.”

    • Good for you Nancy! I am back from Longboat Key. Didn’t make it up north as there was work being done on the bridge over to Anna Maria. Will be doing more exploring over the next year! … and hopefully some beach walk too!!

  2. Nature really does inspire the soul. We just had a 4 day break at a hotel right on the beach down the coast in NSW, enjoying early morning sunrises coming up over the ocean and beautiful sunsets in the hinterland…..magic! I feel re-charged and ready for anything, the beauty and simplicity of nature never fails!
