in shallow water
Some of us are stuck
in the shallows.
Where life has a cautious
desperate rhythm,
punctuated by bursts
of pleasure and hurt.
There's a loss of connection
with our authentic self.
Life has become the soap opera
or media that we tune into.
The deep is too dangerous
to acknowledge, let alone embrace.
We cling to the safety of the shore.

We yearn to feel connection,
yet can't let go of judging,
controlling, grasping
resisting and resenting.
Life is filled with games,
distractions and must-see t.v.
Others agree this is
the way it "should" be.
It is the shallows of a fearful
and protective ego.

When you recognize
being in this place,
take time to pause.
Breathe fully and notice
what is alive in you.
Listen for the vibration
from the depths within.
The untouched part of you
that never changes.

Finding your Middle Ground
is the gateway to
a profound way of being
and living authentically.
The current may be strong
and the transition may
be difficult.

It takes courage to be
the swimmer you already are,
to dive in and wake up.

Namaste
Waking up

    Truth! 🙂
It takes great courage to ignore the “status quo” and take the risks required to follow your inner voice… your heart… and travel your own unique path… which deep down you know is the right thing for you to do… if you want to succeed at living your “best life”.

Thanks, as always, for the wisdom Val 💕
    Peace and Blessings – Paul

Thank you for the kind words, Val. The truth is that I understand the concepts, but I am still searching for the courage to follow my hopes and dreams. Just now trying to take some small steps in the right direction. I hope I have the strength to succeed. Only time will tell. 🙏 This is, of course, a journey that only ends when my time in this life is over. Circumstances around us constantly change, and we have to course correct as we follow our paths. Blessings – Paul.

So much wisdom in your words, Val. A wise and moving reflection, and your words speak directly to the parts of me (and I am sure others) that long for safety, yet ache for something deeper and more genuine. Thank you for reminding us of the power and courage it takes to pause, breathe, and trust the depths within ourselves. Your writing always inspires me to embrace life with a more open heart. Namaste to you 😊❤️
