inner courage

“Don’t turn away. Keep your gaze on the bandaged place.
That’s where the light enters you.” Rumi

When you are experiencing hurt, especially a wound of the heart.

Look directly at this bandaged place

Find courage to face the storm, rather than avoiding it or denying it.

Be tender towards this raw vulnerability

When you bring compassion to your wound, you allow it to heal

Be with it so it can dissolve the fear and pain

Trust yourself to feel and live all aspects of your life

Practice being present with whatever is alive in you

Be present and be kind

Watch the transformation

Find peace at last

Namaste

  1. I finally can embrace this perspective as the Japanese art of Kintsugi embodies so well.

  3. Thank you for this! I engage in this practice and have been doing so for the past several months after a terrible loss. My doctor thinks i need psychiatric help because i refuse all the numbing drugs she wants to overprescribe! It’s funny really. Rumi always helps!
