Records are for
human beings
who need to be seen
and recognized.
Have something to
attain and achieve.

We compete for medals
and certificates.
We strive and drive
ourselves for that
one thing above an other.

The pace of life
increases as we
forge our way forward.

Until the day when we

are over that hill.
We look behind and
note all that we
have accomplished.
We look up and give
thanks for finally
letting it all go.

Capturing what has gone
are our records now

I love that Val…. Oh so very true…. I had a folder with all my certificates from work.. ( I only ever got my swimming certificate from school ) lol 🙂
And as I looked through them, I thought on all the hard studying I had done to achieve some of them and how at the time of their attainment I was proud of my achievements…

Your last verse says it all… As we grow, we let go..
Knowing its not what is on a piece of paper that counts.. But it is what is inside your heart ❤

    Lovely poem xx ❤ 🙏💖

Thanks so much Sue for sharing your insights here. In the early stages of life, attainments were so important.. and now it feels more like bringing our tree energy to something worthwhile is where we may a difference. 🌻🌻🌻

So well said. In my marathon running days my grandson snaffled all my medals – I was happy to let them go 🙂
