Fill your bowl to the brim and it will spill.
Keep sharpening your knife and it will blunt.
Chase after money and security and your heart will never unclench.
Care about people’s approval and you will be their prisoner.

Do your work, then step back.
The only path to serenity.

~ Mitchell, Stephen. Tao Te Ching (Perennial Classics) . Harper Perennial. Kindle Edition.

“Do your work, then step back”. So simple, yet not easy to do when we are caught up in demanding jobs and the chaotic pace of our techno driven lives.

We all need time to pause, reflect and replenish. Only then can we touch inner balance, and the serenity in life.

Great words Val. It was an amazing thing in the beginning, ever trying to get everyone to love me…but it wasn’t until I loved myself that I understood. I didn’t understand how to love until then, all before was just that conditional love, my expectations on everyone else. To finally love me was that freedom I had ever looked for. It is so beautifully created as it is, so we can see it all…and know. Great post kind lady, may we see its light and understand 🤗❤️🙏

Beautiful words of wisdom . As we witness all… and as we learn to navigate with balance, as we let go of that which no longer serves. 💕😍🙏💗

Sigh… the beauty of the Dao and the thoughts that flow when reading Lao Zi’s words. Reminds me to slow down, take it all in, and enjoy the serenity. Thank you, Val, for this post.
