It take courage to face reality. Do I really want to know? It's so easy to be busy. Never ending activity with no time to pause or let fear grow. No time to wonder or reflect on who you are. It feels safe to fill the space. Yes, it takes courage to allow silence, and solitude. to embrace the emptiness. There is nothing here to escape from, when it welcomes you home. ~ Val Boyko

I have listened to that silence for some time now Val, it now speaks so freely…from that love found within it. Great post dear lady, it is an interesting place to meet yourself. Beautifully written 😀❤️🙏

Beautifully said Val, I hear many say they are busy to honour being alive… and I try and say if they embrace the quietness sometimes they will truly appreciate how much more life there is within the silence! Happy weekend, much love x

Oh Val it is like you are reading my mind and my heart – but saying it so beautifully. So grateful that we walk the path together. Yesterday was that day of total solitude and silence for me. Today I will shift and I will be spending the day with my granddaughters – last field hockey game of the season and then a “date” to cook together and create a Sunday dinner in honor of my upcoming trip. (Their idea). So sorry to say I will miss our yoga practice and the zoom with John.

Thank you so much Sharon. It sounds like a weekend in balance 💐🙏🏻💕
Yesterday I spent inside too, and was inspired to paint. The first of my Chanticleer paintings is taking shape.

I so very much enjoyed this poem, Val, have been thinking a lot about this busy-busy-busy aspect of life and concur–it takes courage to just stop and be. Lovely words.

Silence your mind. Just be. Focus on your breath. Slip into the space between your thoughts. Meditate. In the silence of not doing, we begin to know what we feel. LISTEN.
When we know WHO we are, we know HOW to live.

In my early 20’s, I settled in the woods of Maine to seek out this very thing. And I’ve never been far from it since. It was absolutely nerve-shattering to begin with, but it was something I knew I had to do. Sit in absolute silence and live inside my own skin. If not, I wonder where and how we will be at the end of life as we know it. Peace, Val. 💗
