“I believe the main task of the spirit is to free man from his ego.” – Albert Einstein This is so much easier to do when you’re not plugged into social media. If you think these platforms connect you with others, it may be time to think again. Disconnect from the ego system…

A powerful message for everyone on a spiritual path. Are you feeding your ego or sharing the goodness?
It’s a thought I have all the time…only Facebook now, but still…the urge to disconnect. Thanks, Val.

Me too Van 💛 I use Facebook as a feed for my blog and share occasional updates or interesting pieces. Thanks!

The payoffs for feeding our Ego is small . . . since Ego has an insatiable appetite and always wants MORE! More attention. More acclaim. More applause. More accolades.
In constrast, supporting Spirit is easy and the payoffs are great. All we need is a quiet mind that is not plugged into the Ego machine. 😀

… or watch too much tv and believe that when we watch and read about is reality. Thank you Nancy 💕

You are so right Val and I feel, this for me is a mix because of my shops. If I don’t show up anything, I will not sell either.
I don’t write much private at fx Facebook, but I read, what others are writing and sometimes I feel intimidated because they share very private things at their walls. Maybe I’m just more private…

Hi Irene. I hear you! There is definitely a balance between promoting a business and feeding our personal ego. Awareness is everything… and doing what feels right to each individual 💛🙏💛

Thank you Val. I’m only getting a little private at my blog, but not other places. In my Facebook, I don’t bring any links to my blog by same reason, only to my shops. Enjoy your day ❤

Like you, I share blog posts on Facebook and Twitter, both of which I could do without. For me, blogging is the most healthy form of social media. Loved this, Val!

Great post, Val. I can ditto Jill’s comment. WP has a lovely community and it takes up about 95% of my online time. I consider many of the virtual friendships dear. ❤

I agree Diana. Together, we have created a depth and understanding that surpasses personal gain. It may not be the norm … but i believe it is a natural way of being 💛

This is a very important question to ask and stay truthful to our purpose here.

I agree Karen. We all have one … and because of that, we are open to the temptation to feed it. 💕

I think too often people try eradicating the ego. Which cannot be done. It’s there for survival on Planet Earth. But Westerners take things so seriously. Meditate means emptying the mind. It cannot be done (or can be, but not for long), so they give up entirely when mindfulness would serve them well. But yes, well spoken – it’s important to disconnect from the need to have the ego constantly stroked. That’s another thing altogether. Cheers, Val! ❤

So true Bela 💛 Being aware of our motivations is key to getting to know our ego … and noticing how it wants to be stroked.

Sadly, as much as I try not to, I often find myself slipping into feeding my ego. And it’s not a good way to be. Thanks for the reminder!

Thank you for sharing Ann 💛
It isn’t sad or bad, its only our thinking that makes it so. 😌 The ego will always want more attention in order to reinforce itself. Our role as evolving human beings is to notice it, and not feed it so much, so it looses its power over us. xo
