Hi Val, I’m with you a good bit of the way but I feel we have to see life as a process and an over-focus on the present can prevent us from learning from experience and not taking heed of the future can lead to a shortsightedness which can create all sorts of complications in future ‘presents.’ Having said all that, it is definitely very fulfilling to live in the present moment and be keenly aware of what’s unfolding at all levels and between levels.
I agree Jean, bringing awareness to past events and planning ahead is important for living life well. My perspective is that when we get caught up with thoughts and regrets about what is past of or spend time only dreaming about the future that we move away from appreciating the moment that we are living in right now. Its a balance that comes with awareness and appreciation for what we have here and now. 💛

My name is Val Boyko, a dual citizen living near Philadelphia, originally from Scotland.
This blog came to life one morning in 2013. I woke up with these words in my mind: “Life is a series of highs and lows. Be grateful for the highs. Be graceful in the lows. And find contentment in your Middle Ground.”
Find Your Middle Ground blog started to explore, reflect, ask deep questions, share insights about awakening, and connect with wonderful people like yourself. Thank you for being here and being such an inspiration.
I’d love to hear from you …
