Haiku – relationships shift

~
Present in person
Still going through the motions
Feeling worlds apart
~
Pause and realize
No person owns the rule book
Relationships shift
~
Just like in nature
Adaptability rules
Yet eclipses happen
~
New cycles begin
Following nature’s movement
Trust what is within
~
Stay open and true
Find your inner alignment
In integrity

  1. Is that a way of saying you have had some shifty relationships?

    1. Shifty and shifting … I think we probably all have had at some point along the way. 🥰

  2. Chris and I have been together nearly 35 years. It’s a dance, isn’t it? And yet to me, I value my sovereignty. Thus I value his. We have chosen this life together, we have deep love for one another. And we are different human beings. Appreciating all that has been key, I think, to our longevity. 🙏♥️

  8. Jeannie is my fourth wife but the first that I truly love, and she feels the same towards me. Forgive me if I have said the following before.

We met in 2007 in Guaymas in Mexico. Jean had twenty-three ex-rescue dogs plus many cats. However, we were both born in North London, some twenty-six miles from each other. I went out to Mexico with my GSD in 2008, we came to Arizona in 2010 with sixteen dogs and seven cats, and were married. In 2012 we came west to Southern Oregon.

  9. That arc—from ‘present in person, worlds apart’ to ‘stay open and true’ is the whole journey. The first stanza holds the pain so clearly, and then you move through to the wisdom: no one owns the rule book. Nature adapts. Eclipses happen. And through it all, integrity is what remains. Beautiful, Val. 💙

    Much love,
