From the moment we are old enough to listen, we receive instructions to improve our aim, buy better arrows, refine the grip of fingers on bow string. Think of the irony. Here we sit within the bull's eye, aiming at externals. The good news is that every practice done with love and focus eventually reveals the insanity of targeting a distant goal. By then we've grown so used to holding the bow, drawing the string back with just the right amount of force, that its hard to put the arrow down and just be present in the bull's eye. ~ Danna Faulds. Taken from "From Root to Bloom"
An other beautiful reminder from Danna Faulds to take our attention away from targeting external goals and make time to step away.
With a shift in focus, along with compassion and love, we find satisfaction and joy within.

Dear Val,

I can imagine that great calm one must feel when they step away from such pursuits. I often imagine what it will feel like when I retire…

A turning inwards can happen any time. Don’t wait for retirement to focus on this or you may be disappointed 🤔

Thank you Diana 💛 At the end of the day I fee it all comes down to balance and keeping in touch with our center. In that way we can live our lives fully and productively, without becoming monks.

This makes me think of all the ads about living to your greatest potential. I have found this kind of thinking to be distracting. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the analogy. Be well. Ali
