time to let go

~

Know in this moment

Life is about letting go

without resistance.

~

With every exhale,

As you fall asleep at night,

You follow life’s flow.

~

Stop resisting life

and holding on so tightly.

Its time to let go.

~

As the last leaves seem to cling to the trees, I wonder what I am still holding on to.

This is the time to recognize what we are resisting and allow ourselves to go with the natural flow of life … by letting go.

    1. Good for you Irene .. Tuning into nature’s way and letting go of what no longer serves you. I like to consider this at every change of season. xo

      1. I’m on this way because I need to move again in short time and wish to free myself both physically and mentally and only bring, what I need. This should make life easier in several ways.

          1. Thank you Val. My contract here ends in December and I can’t renew it, because the house will be sold fast. I look for another place like this to live for a while before I go to Germany, where my daughter lives.

  7. Hi Val, this makes me think of the extent to which there are such valiant attempts to keep people alive when everything says that it is time to let them go. (I know this is probably not what you were driving at but it’s an issue that has special meaning for me.)

    1. Such an interesting perspective Jean. Of course, the ultimate letting go come with our final exhale. It did cross my mind. After all, it is nature’s way. xo

Beautiful post, Val. It’s such a weird synchronicity. I took a picture of the exact same thing and was going to talk about it in my next post saying something similar. Your picture is much better. Haha. You know what they say about great minds. I may still use it. It is different enough, just funny.

    1. Thanks Diana! So good to see you here! I think we get bent because our beliefs get in the way. We pay more attention to our thinking than to nature or our deeper wisdom. 💛

  11. LOVE this, Val. So timely for me. I’ve been feeling resistance lately, not sure why. Could be picking up the collective consciousness? Let go, let go… ❤

    1. Me too Eliza … there’s some tension about. Embrace the feeling completely and let it find its own way to let go in the flow.

  14. Ah! Val! It can be so freeing…so liberating!! It would seem as a species that we are much more adept at holding on for dear life when the answer is…simply to let go. What amazes me is that it is a constant process…when I feel heavy I know that I am holding on to something…making my, so to speak, load heavier.

I wish you the beautiful feeling of lightness…that you always know what and when to let go! Happy Thanksgiving my friend♡

    1. Thank you Lorrie for your insight into holding on and the heaviness it can create. There is much relief in letting go when we trust it is the right time, like nature ❤️

  18. Wonderful poem, Val! A similar thought crossed my mind when I saw a HUGE orange/red leaf on the ground at the salt marsh today. Unlike other (still green) leaves it had let go, and became beautiful. Great reminder!

    1. In letting go we can become beautiful! I love that Helen. Better than drying up and being shredded for compost 😉

      1. Me too! There’s something rather profound about the idea of letting go offering the pathway to beauty. The bedside light is being turned in five minutes and I shall take that thought to sleep with me.

  19. This letting go theme seems to be in the air….. I wrote about this as well exactly at the same time as you where. I take that as confirmation that I’m on the right track, even though I’m making more progress in thought than in deed yet. Might take a little bit longer to actually muster the courage.

  24. It was hardest and even more hurtful to really let go… but bearing that pain has now gradually, very slowly and very subtly just started to bring a certain degree of peace. It is not much at the moment but hopefully this peace prolongs and increases more with time.
Always love your posts Val. They are so “Being” as always. Thank you so much.
