I am back from vacationing/revisiting Scotland and Tuscany. It was a heart warming experience to connect to family and others who hold special places in our hearts. There is a mellowing taking place and a softening of the heart as I embrace this season of my life. I have always been a “driver” and “striver” and when I turned 70 thought that this was a time to reinvent myself in some way, somehow…The “Last Push. Hoorah. Atta girl!” kind of thing. Old habits die hard, after all.
Over the years, teachers have appeared and courses quickly followed. My life motto, or dharma has been “Learn, Grow and Share”. Now I feel drawn to revisit what I have embraced and absorbed over the years. I know there is a great pool of wisdom within that others can benefit from. I don’t need to reinvent the wheel, or seek what is already found. I will just take time to slow down and let what is there flow through me and touch people.
Finding balance between being a spiritual being and human in this world is where the growth and adventure lies. The doorway has been finding my middle ground and being centered though life’s highs and lows. This is key for the continued unfolding and awakening of spirit, and I will continue to share here and in my offerings.

The Universe has drawn my attention back to the poetry of Steve Taylor. This poem reflects one aspect of where I am right now.
Why fight against the fading glow of youth?
Why try to freeze a process that can’t be stopped?
You’re clinging too hard, that’s why you’re weary;
your face is lined with tension not with age.
And even if your form has altered a little
even if the surface is a little worn and chaffed
your being is rich and deep
nourished by experience and understanding
and another kind of light is shining from you now:
a full, mellow glow, like autumn sunshine,
that spreads further and touches deeper
than the flashing, dazzling glow of youth.
Why not let that glow shine through
instead of trying to rekindle a faded light?
Change brings decay if you resist it.
But if you accept it and flow with it,
it brings growth and renewal.
