Stepping Back into the World – Gently

Stepping back into life

Dear Readers and Friends, I hope you are well and finding balance in these challenging times. The past few months have been interesting, to say the least … and they seem to be continuing! I am at a loss for words with what I see and hear around me.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I was concerned for others, yet I was filled with hope that we would all come together and support each other in creating a new way of life together; one that cared for each other and the planet. Yet the divisions and strife grow every day. People take sides and believe the unbelievable ….

My mind is losing hope, yet my heart still trusts in what is unfolding. I recall Osho’s words “Remember the emphasis on the heart. The mind lives in doubt and the heart lives in trust. When you trust, suddenly you become centered.”

On a personal level, I am also trusting in my own unfolding. As I wrote in my previous post,
Update-Retreat I have been nurturing myself in my cocoon, teaching yoga on Zoom and taking some online courses. At the beginning of July I began Roger Housden’s course for writers, non writers and poets called “Dropping the Struggle”. I am part of a group of ten who come together and write, prompted by Roger’s wisdom.

It has sparked my inner wisdom and voice again. I am stepping back into the world, gently.

I realize that we all struggle. Each of us struggles in our own way. Many of us keep it to ourselves and try to lock out the pain. Others weep more openly. Many more can’t admit or face this tender wound. There is a lot of confusion and pain in us humans. Especially now.

More than ever, this is a time for understanding, compassion and listening to others … and to our own inner voice.

We will get through this together not apart.I look forward to sharing some old, new and timeless insights with you.

Namaste

The peeps who are drawn here are older, mature and ready to explore with curiosity what can arise with an open heart and mind. It’s a place for naming, for being open to love and support, and to transcend into the next level … whatever that means for each person. 🙏

  10. Change is always painful, in heart and mind. But we will all come through this in a better place because it asked us to look deeper, go past what once held us and become something shiny and new. And we will think better of ourselves because we did, and realise the compassion it does build. Anything that builds that love of self is a magic indeed, even if it was built by a virus.
Great post Val, glad to hear your voice 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

      1. Dearest Val, your words have always held wisdom. None more so than the ones you’ve written here.
Like you I saw a chance of Unity, I’m lucky in that my own immediate neighbours have retained that Unity after the lockdown.
Humanity was and still is, being given the chance to change. Yet many are falling into their old Cycles of repeated patterns of age old behaviours, which many are not even aware were programmed into them in ages past.
Division is being instigated and on the surface it made appear all is falling apart.
But like you Val, my heart is what now leads the way, I no longer follow my head.
And my heart trusts, the power of those few hearts which are many. Just because we are shown via the media what they want us to believe, deep down despite those who have been snared into the trap of division, I believe while it may yet seen to get worse, it has to, in order for the old to fall away, before the new can arise.
And when it does, people may well be shocked still further. While those of us whom have done our shadow work, and sought out Truth, will see that which we have known for a long long time, about the state of the “deep-other”, exposed for what it is.
Hold tight my friend, and wonderful you have adapted your routine, and taken on creative skills in writing.
        Bless you Val.
        🙏💖🙏💖

  11. Yes, we will get through this together. I keep thinking of Fred Rogers’ mother telling him to ‘look for the helpers.’ It keeps my focus on the better aspects. I don’t ignore the darker feelings, but they don’t get full billing… I simply can’t give them that much energy, as they may just devour me! 😉

  18. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings, Val. I feel like a weathervane, sometimes shocked by words and choices, sometimes despairing over all the loss, and other times hopeful as I see people being incredibly kind. You’re right that we all are somehow finding our way through months of uncertainty. Peace, my friend. Be well.

  19. Val, the one thing that is critical for the planet and all who live upon it is compassionate innovation. I wrote about it the other day and I truly believe we need leaders who are great innovators and will inspire the great majority of us who are looking desperately for a way ahead. Welcome back!

  24. Welcome back, Val, I missed your words of wisdom. It has been a struggle for sure, in so many ways. The division and strife seem the hardest to bear, but I have not lost hope in the awakening of our planet. I look to the birds and the flowers for help when I feel downcast and they never let me down. Butterflies appear exactly when I need them. Keep listening to your beautiful heart, my friend, you are so very loved. xx
