This is a reblog and gentle reminder to stop the juggling today 🙏

oo0O0oo

It often seems so hard to keep life in balance.

If we see life as a balancing act between opposing sides, then we feel ourselves dipping from one side to other. Balance becomes a juggling act of opposing sides. An other thing to work at and get just right!

blancing act

If we see balance like this its no wonder that we feel off balance most of the time.  In life, everything is changing and nothing stays static. If we see life as a balancing act, then we constantly find ourselves trying to find balance again and again.

Isn’t it exhausting to always try to realign ourselves like this?…

I see balance in a different way…. Balance is finding wholeness that comes from our center of being.

presetn moment

Our center keeps us grounded in the present moment. As life goes on and everything in the outer world shifts and changes, our inner being is a constant presence.

Without connecting to our center we will continue to swing back and forth in the pendulum of life.

This center is what I call our Middle Ground. That place where we pause and let go of the external world of striving, strategizing and planning…. and instead, allow ourselves to let go and simply be.

pendulum resting in center

To let go of thinking, and tuning into our inner being and the Presence within.

Here we nourish and refresh ourselves … and find our natural state of balance.

When we come from this center we will never lose our way in the highs and lows of life.

Instead of looking outwards to see what you can juggle, look inwards and find your center  of being.

Let this be a gentle reminder for all of us to make time to pause and find peace within.

It is so precious.

Love this post — especially as I was reflecting on how ‘out of balance’ my life feels right now with added responsibilities at work, wedding planning and art creating and a concert to organize and a major event to put on and …. yup. time to go to my middle ground within and find my centre!

    Thanks Val.

I really like that Val – the focus being not on the aspects of imbalance, but on the centre that holds it all in balance.

Thank you Don! I like the image of a wagon wheel that comes to mind from your comment. No matter how fast it is turning, the center stays constant and strong – holding it all in balance.

The sanctuary within, the middle ground accessed via the middle way – equilibrium, equanimity, presence and repose. Thank you for your clear guidance this day Val.

I, too, love this post Val! Many years ago, I think I was in High School, I was gifted a Weeble. “Weeble’s wobble but they don’t fall down.” It’s a little kids toys from long ago that has a big round bottom and no matter how you knock it, it always comes back to center. And that Weeble has always sat with me, either on a book case or my desk at home, somewhere I see it almost every day, as my reminder to stay centered, and that balance comes from within. 😉 This post is perfect!

    So true!

Many people try to substitute their dreams and desires for ours . . . pushing and pulling at us to do what THEY think we ought to be doing. Even when we tell them that we know what we need by looking within.

Great reminder Val, grounding for me is sitting still with nature, feeling connected to everything , feeling its solid ground beneath me and centering my mind and energy again. I love this, Thankyou.

Excellent post! Just what I say from a different perspective–leisure (whether using unobligated time wisely or sitting still in contemplation) balances us to bring our minds and bodies to it’s proper center. I would like to reblog some of your thoughts if you don’t mind 🙂

Especially in these days, when looking outward can make a person crazy. So much change going on in the world, too much chaos. Better to discover the stillness within. Taking nourishment therein, as you say. Aloha, Val ❤

Wise words Val. Self care/analysis and letting go of the outer word gives me the peace of mind and soul to love and respect myself and others.
