wondering

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves,
like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue.
Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them.
And the point is, to live everything.
Live the questions now.
Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”

Embrace exactly where we are today

Not wishing into an imagined future

or seeking answers we are not ready to live by

Accept the confusion of not knowing

Love and live each moment for what it is

Knowing everything has its time

Namaste

“Accept the confusion of not knowing” . . . I love that. A difficult lesson but so vital to contentment.

Great advice, Val! Something to practice every day…it’s not that easy to live the questions.

I heard something today that I want to share, “Listen with the intent to understand, rather than with the intent to respond.” Your post today, Val, seemed in the same vein.

In a world that needs to know everything, living in and with our questions is challenging, and yet it’s the only place we can be! Great reminder Val. 😉

Agreed Karen. Its a wake up call when we realize that, not only don’t we know the answers, but we are are probably not ready for them. Letting things unfold and being with what is takes courage along with bags of patience. xo

It has also been learning to trust. Patience and allowing those answers to unfold rather than chasing them, has given me the confidence to know they will always arrive in perfect timing. So true.

Here’s to leaping in the dark!

“Living is a form of not being sure, not knowing what next or how. We guess. We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the dark.” ~ Agnes De Mille

One of my favorite Rilke pieces. I love how simply living in this now, inevitably will bring to us the answers we are able to really live in.
