rose in nature

A fully lived life is filled with pivotal moments.

We humans like to think of the uplifting ones like experiencing a wonder of nature, falling in love,  births, getting that job, promotion and special celebrations. It makes us feel good.

But living life fully is about living the whole of life. Embracing the highs and lows and finding our middle ground despite the challenges.

Pivotal moments are when we see and feel things in a completely new way. But there is also the deeper challenging moments of unexpected changes, such as accidents, disruptions and unexpected endings, and losses.

Events that prompt you to do some soul searching, see something in a completely different way or to do something you would not ordinarily do, are pivotal.

It’s the ah ha moment that makes you see something completely different and anew.

It isn’t about the external circumstances, it’s about how we experience them in a different way.

It is about witnessing our internal responses to what is happening and allowing a different perspective to emerge.

Simply put, a moment presents itself, and we see it in a new way.

And yes, it can be unsettling and scary too.

It may take us some time to see this clearly, especially when we are caught up in distressing emotions, but the time will come when we can look back and say, yes! This where my life changed and I wouldn’t be where I am, or who I have become, if I hadn’t experienced this.

Don’t wish your life away seeking comfort, holding on to the past or grasping for pleasure. Be open to it all. Let the pivot begin.

Sending courage from my heart to yours.

Namaste

I cannot but agree with youi 100%! A full life is a life filled with ups and downs, ins and outs, sideways trails, straigh-on paths. The whole lot. A beautiful thing, really.

Your wise words resonate with me, Val. How can we truly appreciate the good things in life if we haven’t experienced the hard things? You cannot be a complete human being unless you have lived through both.

I do savor those wonderful moments where everything falls into place beautifully, like one of those glorious sunrises. But I have learned that most of the painful events I’ve faced, losses, heartbreak, defeat… have been some of my most beneficial lessons. Thank you for this encouraging post.

Well said, Val ~ it seems transformation rarely happens in the comfortable ways we wish it would in life. I agree with your reminder that pivotal moments are defined more by how we react, especially in hard times as they often offer the greatest lessons. Wishing you a beautiful weekend, and thank you. Namaste.
