In the process of awakening
There is a letting go.
What once was pleasurable
May no longer inspire us.
There is a sense of loss
Along with opening to the new.
Just as night gives way to dawn
And day releases into dusk.
It is the nature of things.
Life is a series of highs and lows.
Cycles come and go.
Can you be with it?

I was with a group visiting a Hindu temple yesterday where this exact sentiment was spoken by the Hindu priest in explaining his faith to us, and I said there are very similar sentiments in what Jesus said. It seems “letting go” is common to all faiths at the contemplative foundations.
