Over the past several weeks I have been walking in Chanticleer Gardens, near me in Wayne PA. Every time I venture out I have my iPhone 8 at the ready … and it seems to capture the colors, contours, shadows and perspectives pretty well.

I don’t see myself as a photographer, but I have been taught to have an artistic eye. Recently, I have not only wanted to represent what is before me, but also to appreciate different perspectives, shades, patterns and dynamics that are taking place.

So, these last few visits I have asked myself – where would I like to sit? As I brought new awareness to seats, I noticed so many more in tucked away corners as well as overlooking lovely vistas.

Where would you choose to sit?

  6. So envious that this garden is close to you. 🙂 On my bucket list, I love that each garden room is managed by its own gardener, who is allowed (probably with some approval) to create their own expression.
I like the blue Andriondacks and the botanically carved back on the chairs on the lawn. ❤

    • Thank you Eliza 💕The blue is such a lovely contrast. Not far from there is a couple of leopard design yellow and black anderindacks … they always have peeps in them. So interesting what we are attracted to and what nourishes is!

  10. They all look enticing for different reasons, Val, but the seat under the trellis and the one by the brook are my two favorites. How wonderful to have this resource nearby…💕

  11. there are so many great places to sit there. The favorite spot for my wife and I are two chairs down by the restrooms, surrounded by bamboo trees and a stream…

  12. These are all inviting, Val, but I’d choose any of the Adirondack-looking chairs surrounded by lush green grass with miles of space from other people. Beautiful shots, Lauren

  14. Val, like some others I’d want to try them all. But first choice is the one that looks like a faerie circle! What a beautiful garden to visit!! Thanks for sharing all the pictures. 🤗🙏💚

  15. What a lovely collage of garden spots, inviting introspection, fun, healing energy and more. I would love to create space in my year to experience what each place has to offer. My favorite today was the first one – I imagine there’s a beautiful view from there that invites one’s mind to calm in nature’s beauty. Thank you, Val.

  16. What lovely gardens!! A wonderful place to walk and get lost in contemplation 🙂 Ever since the pandemic and lock down, I have been finding new places to walk and get lost in nature. My usual walk is the beach, and that will always be one of my favorites. But I did find new places that I probably would not have found if not for this year.
There is something about being in nature and walking. For some reason it does help me to be near water…water seems to stoke my creative juices…and I am a fire sign!
Have a great week, Val. Keep finding truth in nature.

  17. Val,
What a lovely space of green to visit. I would choose any of the chairs where I could feel the sun’s warmth on my skin. That is a delightful thought as the weather is shifting closer toward colder days.
    Take care,
    Ali
