Why are we so concerned about
what others think?
We feel guilty for quiet moments,
little corners of happiness,
and pieces of heaven
that we come across.

Instead of sharing, we hide
and pretend to act
like the others.
Conforming to frowns of
dissatisfaction, judgement, and
shaking of the head.

The truth is, we all yearn
for these moments.
Ones that lighten our spirits
and open our hearts.

These treasures are not for hiding
or pushing aside.
The true path is to share and
bring this knowing light
into the world.

  5. Agreed. When I stumble upon a “Debbie Downer” or “Negative Ned,” I refuse to “conform to their frowns of dissatisfaction, judgement, and shaking of the head.”

Life is too short for that kind of perpetual negativity.

Instead, I share my smile with them. If they refuse to accept the gift of positivity, that’s on them. Their choices are not going to dull my sparkle.

  6. Because what others think may trigger our fear of abandonment, rejection, etc.
Because what others think may cause us to be in a very disadvantage situation.

Because sometimes, when we show vulnerability and our authentic self people will use it to their advantage and abandoned us in pain.

Sure, sharing and being authentic is better. But it isn’t always easy and safe.

    1. Thank you for this K 🙏Recognizing our fear and beginning to connect to our inner being brings new insights and strength so we can to be true to ourselves. Having others in our lives who support this journey is so important. There is also a letting go of those who trigger the suffering. It is never easy … but when we know it’s the right thing for us, we find the courage to be true. Namaste 💕

  7. It’s a pity indeed that we sacrifice our happiness in order to be “accepted” in society.

    1. Thanks you for this. 💕 Until we come to the place when we have the courage to choose to be true to ourselves, we willl continue to suffer.
