    • Thanks Van … yet it is something I have grown up with…. and been a big challenge to let go of. The awareness is still there.
I do see how not having children has impacted how I see the world. So much in others lives is concerned with children and then grandchildren. These are gifts that I never got to experience… and it puts a different emphasis on life and what matters. 💛

  1. Thanks for sharing, Val
I admit I’d be hard-pressed to answer some of those questions myself, but I’m glad to say they would be more positive answers than 10 years ago 🙂

    • Taking time to delve into the answers is worthwhile Vicki, especially as time goes by. It will take us into territories of discomfort and heartache…. yet brings us back to embracing the life that we have. 💕

  2. Despite all the negative in my past (and present), I think the freedom to be me and not have to fit in with everyone’s expectations, is one of my greatest joys. Every morning I wake up, sit down at my desk to read my emails, but mostly, watch the plants and trees bending and waving in the wind, leaves shivering from the strong gusts, observing each new leaf and flower that’s grown or opened this morning.

Then, a sparrow stands on my balcony and surveys the scene, drops down to drink from the bird bath and after a few gulps, flies away to continue his daily routine. I think this has to be one of the most wonderful sights on earth. I am so appreciative of the small things in life now and I’m filled with gladness that I have good food, clean water and shelter in a safe environment (not in a war-torn country). Every day is the same, and yet, there is always the potential to be different – in a good way. That not-knowing is the mainstay of my day. Very few of my answers to the questionnaire would be material, mostly they would be from the way I see or feel.

The past is gone and cannot be changed so no point thinking about it. The future could be absolutely anything and is not here, so no point thinking about it. The present is the only thing that really matters and that has the potential to be anything that the Mind wishes it to be.

  3. Val I am so intrigued and awed. As I said to DK, it takes courage and honesty to answer these… what we learn is invaluable. Your reply about becoming The Oak Tree, I thought was marvellous. I’d wish, that could be my answer, for it is an awesome one.
I really, (LOL) liked this post!
