* Inspiration – Quiet Reflection

Part of our spiritual growth is coming to a place of contentment and surety. Yet when we are so sure about our awakening, why do so many of us feel the need to talk about it…

There’s a part of me that wants to convince others and set them free, but its also likely to be the ego-mind looking for validation and recognition of what I have “accomplished”. Or perhaps wanting reassurance that I have got it “right”.

To truly awaken is to let go of our identity as a separate small “self” and embrace the non duality of existence – being awareness itself, or being one with the universal “Self”.

As Mooji says “Just remain empty of identity and intention. Keep quiet.”

Mooki quote

So my intention is to be quiet and set the ego mind aside… and be empty of further intention.

When people ask for guidance then I will give it with kindness, but will not try to convince others.

People find their path and the truth when they are ready.

Namaste

  3. Hi Val, I wonder am I alone in not being interested in spiritual growth. I simply don’t get it why so many people are so concerned about it.

    1. I expect that you are simply content just the way you are Jean 💛

      1. How thought-provoking, Val! I wouldn’t have put spiritual growth and personal contentment together like this.
Contentment can be very elusive but I guess I go to nature – might one say, ‘natural growth’ in search of it when the going gets tough. Thanks for the post and the comment!

        1. Feeling one with nature is also part of our human journey Jean. Many seek this as part of their spiritual journey to find peace in something greater than themselves. xo

    2. But Jean, don’t you feel the aching void within, the utter meaninglessness of your existence? 😉

  7. Hope you don’t mind me asking, but are you a follower if Mooji? I was and got disillusioned some time ago. Am tempted to try again but also have gone back to Yogananda. Very lost and stressed right now. Anyou words of wisdom would be welcome.

    1. Ellen, good to see you here. I have lots of respect and admiration for Mooji … and many other sages of the past an present. I also lean towards the Buddha’s wisdom. “Be a lamp to yourself. Be your own confidence. Hold on to the truth within yourself as to the only truth.”
Finding what is right within ourselves brings peace and acceptance in this chaotic world. May you find it for yourself 💕

Only a fertile Soil can Produce …. Just as Only an Expecting Heart (Fertile Heart) can receive, you can’t force them to receive, even when you do, it won’t yield result unlike an expecting heart .

  11. Very true, Val. It’s good to offer advice, but only the person being offered it can choose to use it or not… it isn’t a thing to be forced. Hopefully, though, that little inspiration switch will flick itself to the ‘on’ position.

  12. Well said, Val; there’s little more irritating to others than one’s uninvited philosophical musings on the metaphysical. Take my blog for example . . . 😉 H ❤

  13. Be open. Listen. Adjust your sails if necessary.
And let others steer their own shoes.

After all, what do we know about the path that they are on . . .

  18. I can relate to this post Val sometimes when we think we can help we should just smile and let the person vent without guiding them. I had someone who felt frustrated and disappointed about a decision today and usually I would try to help, but today I decided it was not my job and that I would just listen instead. Listening for me is a big challenge, sometimes the person can solve the problem by themselves

    1. I hear you Kath. It was the same for me until I did my Coach training and had to really practice! Listening can be a challenge … until we see it as a real gift for the other person ( and a lesson in patience and mindfulness for ourselves!)
