Lessons from Nature

We all do it — complaining about the weather. Its too hot, too cold, nothing like last year, or from when I remember. What if, instead of lamenting, we just… paused?

Take a breath. Let yourself notice that things aren’t quite what you expected. No judgment, no fixing — just honest observation.
When you watch the weather shift, or see the changes unfolding in nature, something opens up. You start to see more clearly. And that clarity is yours — not borrowed from a scroll through social media or shaped by someone else’s podcast.

Staying grounded in your own experience matters more than ever right now.

The world — both the natural one and the human one — is going through real, unsettling changes. That’s simply true.
And while it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, to criticize and to look for a scapegoat, there is something quietly powerful about choosing to witness it all with open eyes.

Only then will we be ready to show up and ready to rebuild.

  1. So beautifully expressed, Val. There’s nothing else on earth like nature to give us this power, I find I cannot live without it.

  2. Beautifully spoken Val, it is almost the first words that pop out of my mouth. Hello such and such, ‘beautiful day isn’t it?’ Or overcast and windy…’miserable day isn’t it?’. It is indeed in our hands kind lady. And ‘hello Val, a beautiful day isn’t it?’…wherever we are 🤗❤️🙏

  7. To paraphrase: “There’s no such thing as bad weather . . . just inappropriate clothing and unsuitable thoughts!” 😀

  8. It couldn’t be said better, Val. I am always fascinated by complaints about the weather. Each of us has something about weather that brings particular discomfort. I love every season but summer brings out my grumpy side. I will relish the rain, snow and the high winds with cheer. I must hide from the higher heat because my system won’t cool itself since a heat stroke at age 10. But the plants love it and we all love the extra light on summer days. The problem is never the weather, it’s our adaptability to it. Others my age hate to cold. I’m lucky enough to be a bit fluffy so the cold doesn’t hurt. And I layer. Unfortunately, I can’t take off enough to survive the heat so I do my things early or late in the day. It’s not the weather’s fault. It’s just doing what it’s suppose to do.

    1. Thank you Marlene 💖 Adapting to the weather …. And other external situations is a lesson we must learn over time. You are a great adaptor and life optimist! Thank you for stopping by. x
