A fully lived life is filled with pivotal moments.
We humans like to think of the uplifting ones like falling in love, births, getting that job, promotion and special celebrations. It makes us feel good.
But living life fully is about living the whole of life. Embracing the highs and lows and finding our middle ground despite the challenges.
Pivotal moments are when we see and feel things in a completely new way. But there is also the deeper challenging moments of unexpected changes, such as accidents, disruptions and unexpected endings, and losses.
Events that prompt you to do some soul searching, see something in a completely different way or to do something you would not ordinarily do, are pivotal.
It’s the ah ha moment that makes you see something completely different and anew.
It isn’t about the external circumstances, it’s about how we experience them in a different way.
It is about witnessing our internal responses to what is happening and allowing a different perspective to emerge.
Simply put, a moment presents itself, and we see it in a new way.
And yes, it can be unsettling and scary too.
It may take us some time to see this clearly, especially when we are caught up in distressing emotions, but the time will come when we can look back and say, yes! This where my life changed and I wouldn’t be where I am, or who I have become, if I hadn’t experienced this.
Don’t wish your life away seeking comfort, holding on to the past or grasping for pleasure. Be open to it all. Let the pivot begin.
Sending courage from my heart to yours.

I remember that day like it was yesterday Val. It was the horror of horrors for me. But in going through it, it released me as I understood that it was needed so that I could step through my fears. And in realizing it, I saw a profound beauty in understanding myself, in facing myself. Yes, it was hard. But beneath it a very profound beauty awaited me. Great post kind lady, there are indeed difficult things, but the beauty beyond them is a love untold. Thank you for a wonderful post, may we all dare that place 🤗❤️🙏

“Simply put, a moment presents itself, and we see it in a new way.” Change results in every moment being totally new and unique. Yes, seeing that unique newness in each moment is a gift indeed.

Yes indeed, Nancy 🥰🙏🏻👁️When we face something out of our control, what we can control is our relationship to it. Changing perspective opens up new life and a way of being in the world.

I feel your post is well timed for this current moment of change we are experiencing… And we each find that balance within via our various coping methods.. 🙂 May we breatheeeeee…. through them… with easeeeeeee…..

I could underline every word you’ve written, Val. I am learning the truths you’ve shared in a whole new way, following the passing of my husband earlier this spring. Every day is about choices, and how we make them. I would trade what I’m learning to roll back the clock, but as that’s not possible, I’m leaning into a whole new awareness that on a daily basis it’s up to me as to how I interpret and interact with this grief. I loved all that you’ve said here, my friend. It’s true.
