wait for water to clear

Like muddy water with mystery below the surface.

Can you wait until the mud settles and the way becomes clear?

Can you be patient enough to hold off acting until you are ready?*

~ Lao Tzu

Let us all listen out for that right time and trust it will appear.

This was one of the quotes Joe asked me to print so he could hang it on his wall. Today he would have been 65. Such a loss.

This is so wise, yet the turbulence is what can draw you in.

The pathway to clarity is how I read this. Once again, profoundly wise advice. Too many years ago for me to remember who it was that used the phrase that echoes this ancient saying. But the phrase has never left me. About giving something “a coating or two of thought”.

Wise words. It takes most of us a lifetime to understand. 💕

I am not always patient. I want to fix things now, act now and know what will happen. But I do try to be patient – thanks for the reminder to wait for clear water.

Hmmm. The way I see this is the muddy water says, “not just yet, let me put a little more into play first”. The the water gets clear. 🙂

Patience is my lesson in life, getting there slowly, waiting patiently for patience to be a natural occurrence for me Val.

I agree Kath. It takes practice to find our way into this natural state of being. And acknowledging that trying to control everything is not the natural way after all! ❤️
