Haiku – curiosity

Find your Middle Ground begins with stepping away from stressful days and anxious minds, and taking time to pause.

When we rest in this place,  we are able to let go of judgments and how we wish things should be. We allow ourselves to open up to what is in this moment. And in doing so, connect with our authentic being and life energy. We find contentment no matter what is happening in the highs and lows of life.

I  believe that we can all contribute to world peace. It starts with being kind to ourselves and finding peace within ourselves. Helping others is a good place to start, but the real work is ours to do for ourselves. We must discover that peaceful, nourishing and inspiring place I call our Middle Ground.

Nothing to achieve
Except finding love within

The love that we yearn for, is already present within us. It may be sparked by certain people, events, or memories, but it is already here.

When we pause and take time to be present, we learn to let go of our conditioning and what we  think we “should” be doing.

We step into being.

In this space, we begin to touch our loving center.

I call it Finding our Middle Ground.

There is nowhere else to be
Find your Middle Ground

Find your Middle Ground is about stepping away from stressful days and anxious minds, and taking time to pause.

When we are mindful of the present moment and simply allow it to be, we open a door to our natural state of being – accepting, loving, peaceful, kind and content. Most of us are so distracted and moving so fast that we get caught up in the world of “doing” or worrying about what we should be doing next.
Too much doing and thinking disconnects us from our sense of “being”and who we really are.

I write about finding this place of connection, contentment and peace in the highs and lows of life. I call it our Middle Ground.

Flight from the Shadow

man running from shadow

“There was a man who was so disturbed by the sight of his own shadow and so displeased with his own footsteps that he determined to get rid of both. The method he hit upon was to run away from them.

So he got up and ran. But every time he put his foot down there was another step, while his shadow kept up with him without the slightest difficulty.

He attributed his failure to the fact that he was not running fast enough. So he ran faster and faster, without stopping, until he finally dropped dead.

He failed to realize that if he merely stepped into the shade, his shadow would vanish, and if he sat down and stayed still, there would be no more footsteps.”

~ Thomas Merton*

The assumption to go faster and push harder to overcome something is ingrained in so many of us. But does it really work? What would happen if you tried  different approach?…

Of course, you won’t know unless you experience it for yourself.

Today, take time to slow down and consider other possibilities, beyond your habitual thinking. Find your middle ground.

If you are new to this site, welcome!

Find your Middle Ground is about stepping away from stressful days and anxious minds, and taking time to pause.

Most of us are so distracted and moving so fast that we get caught up in the world of “doing” or worrying about what we should be doing next.

* Inspiration – Inner direction

inner passion

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”

~ Rumi

Our quiet inner voice will not take us off course. It may also feel a little strange…

The voice that comes from the center of our being is filled with a knowing that is beyond the analytical mind. Yet, we often don’t hear it or allow ourselves to let go and trust it.

That is why it is so important to slow down and step away from the constant bombardment of the world around us.

When we settle our mind and Find our Middle Ground, we tune into this whisper of the heart and soul. We touch our very essence and what we love and yearn for.

If there is a direction or a question you are seeking an answer to, rather than thinking more about it, take time to step away and listen to your heart.

* Outer and Inner Lives

inner and outer reflection

Our outer lives and living are a reflection of our inner lives.

When we are at peace within we are at peace without.

The time we spend in peace and stillness is never wasted.

Take a moment and reflect on how your outer and inner worlds are right now.

Perhaps this is the time to slow down and reflect on the things that matter in life.

Let us find our middle ground together in the highs and lows of life.
