Delight In Waking Up

Delight In Waking Up

Believe in the goodness of your soul.
Acknowledge how well it has guided you.
And yet know that you will fall asleep along the way.
When you sleep,
Take no delight in blaming yourself.
Take delight in waking yourself up once more.
Self blame is the deepest injury,
The deepest sleep of all.
Wake yourself up with gentle affection.

~ by Yogi Amrit Desai

Life, and the spiritual path does not go in a straight line. There will be obstacles, along with joys, and many more unexpected turns along the way.

The best thing we can do for ourselves in our spiritual journey is to be kind. Be kind to our imperfect and still beautiful human being-ness.

Deep within our heart and soul we know there is ultimately love. Don’t let the ego-mind and daily diversions blind you from this precious truth.

    2. I didn’t mean to sound gossipy by using the word “on”! Still, perhaps it is more than we think…

  8. Beautiful words and so true. We find it hard to be kind to ourselves, much harder than being kind to someone else.
