It’s Not Just Another Day

How easy it is to
fall into routine.
Rituals becoming
habits without
attention.
Waking up with
no intention
other than to get
on with it,
or through it.

Take time to pause
right at the beginning
when light is
still filtering through
the curtain of
sleepy driftfulness.

This is the moment
when the world
can open up and
turn itself around.
Allow the light to touch
your heart and soul.
Let your inner being
blossom outwards
for the new day ahead.

  2. Beautiful words Val. It is a very beautiful place that space just before awakening. Still floating from that inner connection, refreshed, like letting go from one home to step into another. Begin a new venture in a world that is going to share so much in all those experiences. And to that, thank you for sharing your ventures, a little light on a new path for my day 🤗🥰🤣❤️🙏

  9. This is a wonderful poem, Val, and its meaning/message is important. It is fitting to read such words at the beginning of spring ~ because one thing winter can do is wrap us in a routine that we can sleepwalk through day after day. Your first stanza speaks volumes. As with spring flowers, we, too, need to bloom and blossom. Cheers to a beautiful day!
