  2. Another season is upon you Val. Just a quick question…those green round ‘fruit’…do they by any chance have tiny little protrusions (hair like) around the outside and when you pick them they give out a very sticky white sap? The plant itself has long skinny leaves? I’m intrigued because if it is the same plant I’m thinking it may be, they used to grow in dry areas of stream beds and a black and yellow caterpillar would be munching on the leaves until it would form into its cocoon and the monarch butterfly would emerge. I have not seen these since I was a child wandering the streams and forests over here. It was amazing to see them, if that is what these are. Thank you, brought back many good memories kind lady ๐Ÿ˜€โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

    1. That was in the main large picture by the way, I just realized there was ‘other’ round green fruit on another image ๐Ÿ˜€โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

      1. And they have black seeds in them but are in fact full of air. Haha, and on our next garden show…๐Ÿคฃโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

    2. Youโ€™ve got me thinking Mark! Iโ€™m not sure, but I do know they grow lots of Milkweed to attract the Monarch butterflies in the summer. So,e of those fruit/seed pods are quite exotic. The big green ugly ones are from the Osage Orange tree, which grow around here. Thanks for your interest Mark ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’๐Ÿงก

  3. Wow, what a gorgeous panoply of images, Val. Can imagine how you must be storing those wonderful colors, smells and textures in your memory bank to revisit during the cold, dark winter months. โค๏ธ

    1. Thanks Derrick. Itโ€™s a great spot under the Katsura tree. As the leaves change it emits a delicious caramel scent!
