Another season is upon you Val. Just a quick question…those green round ‘fruit’…do they by any chance have tiny little protrusions (hair like) around the outside and when you pick them they give out a very sticky white sap? The plant itself has long skinny leaves? I’m intrigued because if it is the same plant I’m thinking it may be, they used to grow in dry areas of stream beds and a black and yellow caterpillar would be munching on the leaves until it would form into its cocoon and the monarch butterfly would emerge. I have not seen these since I was a child wandering the streams and forests over here. It was amazing to see them, if that is what these are. Thank you, brought back many good memories kind lady ๐โค๏ธ๐
And they have black seeds in them but are in fact full of air. Haha, and on our next garden show…๐คฃโค๏ธ๐

Youโve got me thinking Mark! Iโm not sure, but I do know they grow lots of Milkweed to attract the Monarch butterflies in the summer. So,e of those fruit/seed pods are quite exotic. The big green ugly ones are from the Osage Orange tree, which grow around here. Thanks for your interest Mark ๐๐ป๐๐งก
Thanks Lori. ๐งก I revisit the photos a lot and am hoping to do some watercolor paintings inspired by them.
