Late September Reflection with Teddy

Late September morning light dances off dewy grass.

The sun creates dappled patterns through the trees.

Green and gold variations on an autumnal theme.

The hummingbirds have left on their southern journey.

It’s time to bring in their feeders and put out corn for squirrels … deer and crows.

Spider webs glisten and catch me unexpectedly as I walk into the new day with Teddy.

We stand together and breathe in the changing air.

He’s not as active now that his sisters are gone.

He’s okay with this.

And shows me by licking my calf and wagging his tail.

Chipmunks and squirrels are now safe in our yard.

Teddy loves to simply hang out.

Life right now is like a long letting go breath.

Finding a new rhythm, balance and some peace.

We are going to need it in the days ahead.

Letting Go

time to let go

Fall is the season for letting go. Shedding and releasing things that we no longer need. In doing so, its important to accept that there may be a sense of loss and sadness at this time of year. We are emotional beings after all.

This also makes it a time for self compassion, nurturing and kindness.

Yet letting go is a part of our lives…
It happens every day in our breathing and falling asleep.
It happens when we let go of our children and allow them to be independent adults.
It happens when we end relationships or jobs that no longer serve us.
It happens when we accept that we are not perfect human beings after all.

Life is a journey of letting go, to create space, to restore our balance and to discover what really matters.

Letting go is part of the natural rhythm of life.

Without letting go, we cannot be free.

* Inspiration – the time is ripe

The time is ripe.
Before the pause of winter notice the shifting winds, perspectives and possibilities.
Flowers bloom on lengthy stems reaching for the light.
Bees seize quickly the last of the nectar.
Crickets chirp loudly looking for connection.
Spiders create luminous webs to capture and inspire.
Sunshine becomes luminous in the low sky, casting intriguing shadows and patterns of light.

There is an expansion of energy as nature rises in her glorious maturity, and we step in to harvest and enjoy her generous bounty.

Its a time to celebrate… feed our souls… and bring about the changes we yearn for in our lives.
