❄️February Yoga Community News❄️

Hello Dear Yogis and Friends,
I am excited to continue exploring Cultivating the Spirit of Water through February. I will also continue to teach on the same days and times. 
NOTE: A change of time for our WALKS AT STONELEIGH. The new time will be 11.30am on Thursdays, beginning Thursday Feb 10th. ( I won’t be there this week, but hope the regular peeps will get together and enjoy the warmer day!)

As we begin to look towards the lighter days ahead, let’s not forget that Winter is a time for introspection and reflection. In Chinese medicine the season of Winter is associated with the Water element. In nature, everything appears still, cold, quiet and lifeless, but appearances are deceptive. Life is hidden underground and is being deeply nourished by water. The snows and rains represent a great cleansing process, allowing everything to be washed clean and bare.

When we cultivate the spirit of Water we learn to let go of the struggle and resistance, so we can flow around obstacles in our path. We need to take time to allow the tension to melt from ice to water. Water releases and water yields. In the spirit of Water we can begin to understand who we are in a deeper sense, and begin to flow more easily through life.
Come practice with me as we explore moving between centering and movement; stillness and flow; inward and outward; Yin and Yang. 💛🙏💛

MONDAY 9.30am – GENTLE FLOW YOGA. Suitable for those with yoga experience.
WEDNESDAY at 9.30am – BEGINNERS AND REFRESHERS YOGA. Need more specific teaching to feel comfortable in your practice? We will take time to explore different poses, transitions, yogic breathing and more. Bring your questions and requests!
FRIDAY at 9.30am – GENTLE ENERGY YOGA. A combination of Centering and Movement and Yin and Yang. With some Qi Gong to flow some energy! 
SUNDAY 10.30 – GENTLE NURTURING YOGA. Suitable for everyone.

PRE-SPRING FIND YOUR MIDDLE GROUND WORKSHOP. Mark in your calendars an other mini retreat and workshop via Zoom on Saturday February 26th 10.00am – 12.00noon ET.We will start to transition from Winter and take time to ground ourselves before the rise of energy and growth in Spring. This is suitable for everyone with some yoga experience. We will come together in fellowship for reflection, journalling, a gentle Yin supported practice and Qi Gong, and guided mediation. Suggested donation is $20-$30. The workshop will be recorded for those who can’t attend live.

  4. I love winter. I could stay cocooned for much longer. I don’t think we give ourselves enough time for introspection.
