This post is part of my spiritual decluttering.

“An important landmark on our journey is the realization that it is appropriate and beautiful to be exactly where we are right now. Exactly where we are is our learning place. When we pretend to be somewhere else, there is no learning for us because we are trying to put a square peg in round hole. It doesn’t work. Our acknowledgement is, “I am here. I feel this and that. I feel grief. I feel overwhelmed. I feel fear. I feel whatever it is.”

~ Stephen R.Schwartz. from”Problems are the Doors Through Which we Walk to Peace”

It’s so assuring to know we are exactly where we are meant to be. It may not feel beautiful, but when we see it, it is.

The lesson is to accept all that is going on in the moment. Instead of seeking pleasure and avoiding pain, we come to this landmark.

This is the gateway to inner freedom and peace.

  4. Val,
Thank you for this reminder. It’s so important to know we are right where we are meant to be, especially during the holiday season. Pausing to acknowledge this will keep us in the present.

    Preaching to self! 😊

  7. God broke my key off in the lock many times because I was ‘trying’ instead of just letting it go. But I suppose we have to learn to ‘let go’ somehow 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 🎅🏽 🕊 🎄 🎁 ⛄️

  8. I need this reminder. Constantly. And I find that when I accept the fact that we are where we need to be, which is exactly where we are, burdens lessen and actually, I feel lifted up to the point of floating.

  10. Yes!! Right where we are meant to be 🙂 I think sometimes, especially during hard times, it is difficult to sit in this space. But the older I get, the more I know that it is truth.
Sending a giant hug and warm wishes for a beautiful holiday season, Val. I truly hope all is going well for you and yours ❤
