~ Ignore all the noise Start listening for what's real Find Your Middle Ground ~
We are bombarded with noise these days. In Social Media; declarations, fueling greed, gossip, judging others and clamoring for attention. On television; diverting us with violence, selling happiness, fanning greed, divisiveness and lies. The Cymbal Monkey seems a perfect image for this endless cacophony. It feels like a band of them appears on occasion!
“Monkey Mind” is a Buddhist term for an overactive, restless and anxious mind that jumps from one thought to another, like a chattering monkey swinging from branch to branch.
When we pause and take time to bring our awareness inwards, we begin to hear the quiet whispering of our authentic voice. Its deep inside and lives in a peaceful loving part of us. This is what is real and is within us all.
~ Find Your Middle Ground Listen for the deep whisper Monkey disappears ~
So well said, dear Val. Naming the noise seems to make it easier to turn away from. A wonderful way to begin a peaceful and sacred Sunday. Thank you.

Most of us have monkey mind and don’t notice it until we start to observe our thoughts. I’ve read that the average person has 6200 thoughts per day!
