Finding Richness in our Lives

As life becomes harder and more threatening, it also becomes richer, because the fewer expectations we have, the more the good things of life become unexpected gifts that we accept with gratitude.

~ Etty Hillesum

This time is one of letting go. Letting go of the expectations we had about how life would unfold.

There is something so much bigger taking place right now. We are entering a new way of living and being, and there is no going back, for every individual, our community, society and the human race.

I feel unease and fear for others who are struggling right now. My heart goes out to the fearful, the angry, the belligerent, and the denyers among us. It will be hard on them. They are resisting a new reality and will suffer.

This time is a time to bring our focus onto life’s unexpected gifts and to be grateful. I’ve noticed that I am more and more grateful for the relationships I have, even when I can’t be with people in the same way.

Gratefulness brings us ease and opens our hearts for connection, kindness and love.

It can’t solve the problems we are experiencing, but it can release our fears and allow us to become centered and calm. It can bring us to our Middle Ground, where new possibilities and inspiration arise from a knowing deep within.

  5. Yup. There’s no going back, Val. Uncertainty and change are a given, so our only choice is how we approach them. Thanks for the reminder, as always. Be well.

I have a deep need these days to sit back and chill, to observe the world drifting apart, many I know will fall AND all I can do is love and care for myself and my family, and keep my vision high for hearts to feel into their own freedom, to choose for them self as sovereign powerful and magnificent beings, birthing NewEarth from within❤️ much love to you dear val❤️

  9. Great post Val! The corona virus is an opportunity to reflect and embrace change. A chance to expand our consciousness on a bigger level than before. Appreciating nature for me is the best way to express gratitude 🙏

  13. The other day, an unprompted thought bubbled up from inside my heart chakra, filling me with a sense of grounded well-being:

“WOW! What a great life I’ve had.”

Even thinking about that moment, days later, makes me smile.

  14. So true Val. We have to get rid of our expectations of how we want and think things should be, or else we will suffer. I think this will be hard for some but the sooner we start to accept and make this new world work the better off we will be.

  15. So very well said, Val. Change is the only thing certain in life and my heart goes out to all that have no flexibility to flow with that change. It makes me most grateful for a life filled with uncertainty. There are huge changes ahead and resistance only leads to pain. It’s hang on for the E-ticket ride time.

  19. Change is the only constant in life.. And how we adapt to these enforced changes is taking its toll on many dear Val, and like you we feel for those who have no concept of a deeper reality as we do, so there transition and acceptance is not going to be an easy ride.. For lets face it.. This ride is not easy for any of us right now to accept..
Gratitude is something we can all find, even in the smallest of things… We have so much to be grateful for especially when you compare our lives with others around the world..
May we all dig deep into our hearts and pull out that kindness towards others… So with you on this dear Val. ❤
    Much love your way 💖🙏💖
