stilness

“Stillness is different from solitude, different from aloneness, different from turning off the stereo or speaking softly.

Stillness is a place. You can find it in the desert or in the mountains. You can find it when you’re alone in the midst of people. You can find stillness wherever you are, whatever you’re going through.

Stillness is a place within you. Slow down. Breathe deeply. Get quiet. Become familiar with stillness. Take time to learn its power.”

~ Melody Beattie

Ah yes, the power of stillness when we pause and learn to quieten the mind.

It allows us to see things more clearly beyond our thoughts. To touch deeper into the divine source in all of us. Great things emerge from this place.

Right now, stillness is very much on my mind as I begin to pull together my thoughts and ideas for a Yin Yoga Teacher Training Program.

Yin Yoga embodies this path to inner stillness. It is a powerful compassionate practice of physical opening and mindfulness.

For those of you near me, please consider joining me at the upcoming workshops on June 23rd and 24th.

  6. Stillness is one of the places I’m in for a couple of hours during most mornings. I just stop doing things at my desk, gaze out the window and take in the trees, plants, wind rustling the leaves and birds. I’m pretty lucky in this opportunity to just be Mindful and Aware of everything around me and slowing down my breathing and any tense muscles to a point of stillness and calm.

  8. My mum has been advicing me to go meditate so that I can ‘not feel bothered’ a.k.a be in peace, a.k.a, maintain my positive energy, whenever my dad starts barking and spreading his negative vibes around the house and towards me.

Tried once and it felt good.. but, I’m usually by myself everyday, so isn’t that another form of meditating?
