waking up to sunshine

Slow down and witness
The silence beyond the words.
Find your Middle Ground
~

Find your Middle Ground is about stepping away from stressful days and anxious minds, and taking time to pause.

When we are mindful of the present moment and simply allow it to be, we open a door to our natural state of being – accepting, loving, peaceful, kind and content. Most of us are so distracted and moving so fast that we get caught up in the world of “doing” or worrying about what we should be doing next.
Too much doing and thinking disconnects us from our sense of “being”and who we really are.

I write about finding this place of connection, contentment and peace in the highs and lows of life. I call it our Middle Ground.

Namaste

  1. Ahh, thanks for slowing things down in my busy brain, Val. Wishing you a sweet and quiet Sunday.

  2. Yesterday, a “friend” told me that she has to keep DOING (and GOING, GOING, GOING) because if she slows down, even to read a book, she gets sad . . .

In short, she’s afraid to be alone with her own thoughts for fear that sadness will “catch up with her.”

How awful to be afraid to just be.

  11. This is lovely. And it’s so true that many of us are caught up in doing rather than being.

  13. The body can go hypersonic,

The mind works best slower, empty and focused.

      • Must say that I am really into the Headspace app. And the concept of the “silence beyond the words” is impossible to miss in their meditations. Or, in their words, “the silence beyond the thoughts”.

        • Thoughts are how we interpret things using language. Finding ourselves beyond the active mind is the intention of meditation and yoga. I’m so glad headspace is supporting you in this Paul 💛

          • And yesterday (as in Tuesday) evening Jean and I attended our first Yoga session. It was quite a stretch, literally, but when Jean woke this morning she remarked that she was feeling much more positive in a way she couldn’t really point to. We will be repeating the experience next Tuesday!

            • Sounds like something to explore more! Yoga can very energizing, but also nurturing and healing. Of course, I highly recommend it with the right teacher who understands your needs. Let me know how it goes Paul 💛

    • Thank you dear Sue. I’ve been without power, internet or phone for 2 days. I did enjoy some of those silent moments in front of the fire. 😌So glad the internet is back though! I hope you are surviving the frigid weather. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend. xo

      • Thank you Val, the weather was bitter and brutal in parts leaving many here too without power and today many have no water with pipes that have burst.
But here we got off mildly compared to further North and South, So being in the Midlands proved beneficial
Though schools were closed for 3 days here. we are now back to normal and temps rising.
Sorry to hear you were without power, but sometimes we get silver liners in ME time away from the net.. Hope that was the case..
And apt your post said slow down.. I may be heard you .. 🙂
Lots of LOVE.. and Hugs xx ❤
