Everyone talks about how visually stunning it is when the darkened moon fully covers the face of the sun in a total solar eclipse. And indeed, it is. But there are other unusual, truly strange happenings that occur when the moon passes in front of the sun. If you aren’t prepared to look for them, some of these weird phenomena are so fleeting that you can miss them. So … we had a few wispy clouds. It got a little dark. Nothing worth noting. I can assure you I was paying attention with all my senses.

Not sure what happened but when I click on the link to read the rest of the article it takes me to a page with a listing of articles — I like the crescent moons in the shade of a tree though!

I have photos of those little crescents all over the sidewalk. The totality was amazing, Val. Crossed off my bucket list. 😀

The superstitions surrounding Eclipses are so interesting, as are the facts. I’m hoping to capture some great crescent shots here in Northern California today.

I hope you felt an experience worth holding onto Terri. There’s a lot of hype …. and as an adult it was a different experience compared to when I was a child.
The light was pretty strange though!

We did notice the crescent shaped shadows on my mom’s driveway, just before and after the total eclipse.

Good for you Ann. I was deciding whether to get a colander to make the whole thing more interesting. I did try some smartphone photos though. And then the wispy clouds came in !
