Find your Middle Ground.
~

Find your Middle Ground begins with stepping away from stressful days and anxious minds, and taking time to pause.

When we rest in this place,  we are able to let go of judgments and how we wish things should be. We allow ourselves to open up to what is in this moment. And in doing so, connect with our authentic being and life energy. We find contentment no matter what is happening in the highs and lows of life.

I  believe that we can all contribute to world peace. It starts with being kind to ourselves and finding peace within ourselves. Helping others is a good place to start, but the real work is ours to do for ourselves. We must discover that peaceful, nourishing and inspiring place I call our Middle Ground.

  1. Great words of inspiration there, thanks. I loved the phrase towards the end; “Helping others is a good place to start, but the real work is ours to do for ourselves.” Am off to help myself 😃

  2. Like Caroline, great post Val and I too really like the phrase, “helping others is a good place to start, but the real work is ours to do for ourselves.” It is important and empowering work when we do it.

  3. More and more I find my “happiness” is independent of what is going on around me ~> e.g., although we were hot and tired as we waded through the humidity in Colonial Williamsburg on Monday night, my “happiness meter” remained elevated -> 9.5 on a scale of 10. 😀

I really appreciate this, Val. This is so important. One (there are numerous others) of the mantras I repeat to my daughter over and over is listen to your own voice (or heart, or soul) first. She used to roll her eyes a teeny bit….not so much any more. (Happy Mama!)

    • Sometimes it takes a while for the important messages to be really heard. I’m glad she is listening to you Roseanne 💕

  7. I learn so much from you but am not very good at putting it into practice. You have given me some valuable tools and now it’s up to me – thanks Val.

  8. Yes we all can contribute to world peace. It begins with us. Here. Now. In this moment. Not the other guy. Us. 😘

  9. I like the haiku, Val, but what I really needed to hear this morning was the first two paragraph after it. In fact, I think I’ll write them down in my journal right now, just to remember them throughout the day.

    Thank you. 🙂

How wonderful to know that as individuals have the ability to contribute to world peace. And I agree that it begins with how we treat ourselves. If we are kind to ourselves then kindness to others flows out of that.

  13. “I believe we can all contribute to world peace…” Yes, I do too, and in exactly the way you describe. By living our love and peace within ourselves. I’ve taken a couple of weeks off this summer to spend more time BEING, and now I wonder, why can’t/don’t I do this every season?
