” In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.

It will be a permanent Self, rooted in awareness and creativity.

Once you have captured this you have captured the world.”

~ Deepak Chopra

I’m inspired by Deepak Chopra’s words today.

When I was searching for an image to use, I come across photos of playful girls letting go of balloons. This is not what it feels like to let go of our persona and who we have always believed we are.
Surrendering to the unknown beyond our ego mind is a journey that is rarely filled with light hearted balloons. There is loss and sorrow.

Yet, on the other side, the world unfolds with clarity … with a smile and a different kind of balloon. 🎈

  1. These are good words, I think, too. Just as I had felt I became a real, full fledged adult, I am aware I’m becoming an old woman. The skin, the hair, the muscles, the mind, all are changing and confounding me at times. If there is a permanent self, its identity likely shifts gender and context over the eons. Hopefully I am moving in the right direction.,

  9. Lovely post, Val. Letting go seems to be the process we undertake after a few decades of collecting. It’s a process and the lighter load feels good. 🙂

  10. Perfectly said! There is so much sorrow for loss… and yes the clarity on the other side eventually makes up for it.

Do you think there is ever more than a fleeting ‘clarity?’

    • Good question Jean. When there is a knowing it is there – even when we don’t sense it – it becomes enduring. Something to keep coming back to, whether we are meditating or being with nature. At these times, we know we are a part of something bigger that our small self… and we can let go. 💛

  18. So wise and beautiful…. in the process of letting go, I have become a better person, I ´d say… If someone else is involved it could be hard, because we might want to say many things. But knowing that there is no need to “explain or prove” things is also part of a growing, self-confident experience (and saves headaches and time too!) 😀 Hugs dear Val! 😉
