flowing water scape

Water teaches the wisdom of Tao:

It takes no pride in sustaining life.

Live near the flow.

Let the mysteries of life wash over you.

Be transparent.

Give part of yourself to everyone,

And remember every part is whole.

Allow natural order to lead the way

And do what must be done.

Do not fight the current,

And your head will remain above water.*

~ Lao Tzu

Let us all drink more of it, and embrace water’s wisdom.

Namaste

  2. These are wonderful words of wisdom to share Val. Thank you.

I was thinking about water as Beaumont and I walked on the ridge above the river yesterday — what struck me was how it sparkles in the sun, but when we, the humans pollute it with chemicals and all other matter, it will lose its sparkle.

    Have a blessed week.

    • Thank you Louise. Its easy for the sadness to come in when we face the damage that humans can do. Makes me appreciate the beauty that still remains for us to be alert to 💛

  5. A few lessons I’ve gleaned from the wateriness of water:

    * Life is a flow of change ~ events shape our lives as running water shapes a stone.
    * Nothing lasts forever ~ even soft flowing streams erode the hardest boulders.
    * Be patient ~ a bucket is filled drop by drop.
    * Accept the “what is” ~ pushing the river won’t alter its flow.
    * A still pond provides a clearer reflection.
