A sage’s words and wisdom mean little in themselves.

Let us all look to our own inner teacher and guide.

Trust in ourselves and our knowing.

Have faith in our own experience of the world.

This knowing is there for every one of us.

It is the place of personal growth and evolution.

    The final statement of the Buddha to one of his principle disciples :

    “Therefore, Ānanda, be a lamp unto yourself, be a refuge to yourself. Take yourself to no external refuge. Hold fast to the Truth as a lamp; hold fast to the Truth as a refuge. Look not for a refuge in anyone beside yourself. And those, Ānanda, who either now or after I am dead shall be a lamp unto themselves, who take themselves to no external refuge, but holding fast to the Truth as their lamp, and holding fast to the Truth as their refuge, shall not look for refuge to anyone beside themselves, it is they who shall reach the highest goal.”

    Often what is circulating in cyber space comes close to encapsulating our thoughts and beliefs but there is a discordant note. That may be the one we need to heed.

    I so agree so with this philosophy Val. There is so much information surrounding us it can be bewildering. I see it as a massive field of white noise within which you have to find the true signal. When I find ‘truth’ it resonates deep in my heart and so i know it is right – at least right for me, we each have our own realities 🙂

    I think it is the having faith in our own journey and experiences that can be so challenging sometimes — we want to put the responsibility for it on others — and yet, it is only when we embrace 100% responsibility for our own experience that we truly do find ourselves at peace.
